Benefits

Equine Assisted Therapy provides Physical, Psychological, Educational and Social benefits for participants.

The Mission of Equi-librium is to empower individuals with special needs to reach their highest potential through horse-related activities. Equi-librium is a Premier Accredited Center of the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH).; go to www.PATHINTL.org. It is also a member of the Pennsylvania Council for Therapeutic Horsemanship (PACTH); go to www.PACTH.org

We make a difference in the lives of these very special people every day by giving them the opportunity to be successful in unique ways. Students have the chance to connect with nature, learn in an uninhibited atmosphere about themselves and their bodies with the help of a horse. Participants strengthen muscles and motor skills that they aren’t able to use without the movement of the horse. Students learn how to focus and follow directions; sometimes they even learn how to walk and talk. The freedom, sense of accomplishment and elevated self-esteem that occurs when a person with little control learns to control a two-ton animal is both immense and immeasurable.
